Strength In Numbers

Over the last few weeks, I have witnessed strength in many forms… from a mother trying to hold it together as her first daughter got married all the way up to a programme on Alex Honnold who is the only guy to free solo El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.  I believe that we are all battling on some scale the “demons” of life and regardless of the size, the strength needed is the same from us all.

What I’ve witnessed with all the times I’ve seen a person struggling/been struggling myself or if someone is building up to something, is how important it was to have the support network around us, having the right people to hold us up at these times, like our own personal cheerleader, giving us the strength to deal with what life throws at us regardless of the task undertaking , but most importantly how it is mainly love that this support is shown, yeah I know that’s a lot of soppy shit but it’s true, when someone totally believes in your strength they do so from the love they have for you, whether it be partner, friend or family member,  if someone truly has your back it’s built on love and understanding, whether you believe it at the time or not.

I can’t thank my support network enough whilst I have been heading down this road, it’s not always in massive gestures, sometimes it’s a hug, out of the blue, in a message, sometimes, as I mentioned in my last blog, it’s one of my best friends spending the whole 2 and half hours on the phone to me whilst I headed to the hospital for my first appointment where life decided to throw a flat tyre in . It’s knowing that a small loss has a massive impact due to other things it represents, to one of my “new” family members offering to come with me all the way to Glasgow if I ever needed. I would be lost without you all and I certainly wouldn’t have the strength to take this on and so Thank You ♥

I hope that in some ways I repay the same strength, I am a firm believer in that we should champion people rather than pull on their weaknesses, we all battle and should always give grace because we never know what’s going on and a kind gesture to someone you love, unexpected or not, might just turn their day into something a bit more bearable, so give true love with your heart and surround yourself with people that want to give you the same because that way life is always ok 🙂
